BIO
TThe Unified Unit is a group of young men dedicated to touching
lives with the Word and Spirit of God, even through GOSPEL Rap music,
especially today's youth. We recognize that there are messages in
mainstream
hip-hop music that are destructive to our culture and many precious
young,
impressionable lives. This is not an alternative but the real way it
should
be done. God should get the glory out of our lives and our talents not
sin,
self and Satan. Our aim is to use our God-given talents and our lives
to impart positive messages and influences that will uplift these young lives and lead them away from harm and
toward prosperous lives – starting right here at home in Columbia, SC. Since 1997, the Unified Unit has achieved
this primarily through live appearances at Schools, Detention Centers, Churches, and Outdoor Outreach Events. We
look forward to intensifying our visits to High Schools and Middle schools and to affecting lives through WORKSHOPS,
CD's, Radio Play, Music Videos, DVD's, Internet, Educational concepts through rap music, Public Speaking,
Workshops and an increasing number of mainstream events and venues.
EVENTS
The Unified Unit has performed at the following Colleges, Schools and related events:
- Benedict College (Initiated ANNUAL Hip-Hop Stomp Jam at Benedict College– over 700 attended the initial event in 1997)

The Women's Correctional Center and The Richland County Detention Center.
- The group has also been frequently requested and utilized in community outreaches and churches
all over Columbia, Union, Florence, Camden and Charleston, SC - even as far as St. Louis, MO. One major annual
event is Full Gospel Word and Worship Center's Vacation Bible School where over 100 inner city youths from
neighborhoods such as Latimer Manor, Ames Manor, Prescott Manor, Hillandale, and Grand Street Apartments are
touched each year since 1999. Also appeared in the Carolinas Crusade for Christ and at the Township Auditorium.
- The group has a strong desire to continue to reach out to the youth in the school systems,
especially Richland County District ONE through Music, Workshops, Testimonies, and Interactive Involvement.
- As a result of the efforts over the last 7 years, many young have given their lives to Christ and
been encouraged to make decisions that will steer them on the path to becoming productive members of society.
